La Ferté celebrates the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing

One of Europe’s most pleasing vintage aircraft venue — the La Ferté-Alais airshow —  will certainly act as a Time Machine for many aviation lovers as almost no survivors of the many veterans involved in the 6 June 1944 Normandy historical landing survive today… 

The 51st edition of Temps des Hélices will take place on May 18 and 19, 2024 at the Cerny – La Ferté-Alais of Cerny – La Ferté-Alais, in the Essonne region, 55 kilometers south of Paris.

Organized for the first time in 1970, this aerial celebration has grown over the years thanks to the efforts of the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis, to become one of the world’s most air event in the world. This not-to-be-missed venue in the calendar of major international aeronautical the number and quality of aeroplanes from the turn of the last century. pioneers Clément Ader, Louis Blériot, Roland Garros, Alberto Santos-Dumont, and more wrote the first pages of aeronautical history. The event also highlights aircraft involved in the First and Second World Wars, with the presence of numerous aircraft that left their mark on both conflicts. As well as the latest-generation Rafale-type aircraft.

Le Temps des Hélices tells the story of aviation, ancient and modern, civilian and through 150 aircraft on display, a hundred of which are also exhibited in flight.  Each of the two days of the show is organized around two highlights. The morning is reserved for a large static exhibition open to visitors.The organizers of Le Temps des Hélices are keen to bring spectators as close as possible to the players. between spectators and those involved in the event, so everyone can come and admire the 150 historic aircraft up close, and meet the pilotes and crews. 

The afternoon is given over to flight demonstrations and air shows in themed displays by some one hundred aircraft, which everyone can admire from the public area or seated in the area reserved for this purpose. In all, five hours of hours of uninterrupted entertainment. Accessible all day long, it’s an ideal place to meet, exchange ideas and enjoy the show. The Temps des Hélices Village at the heart of the site offers visitors the chance to discover the world of aeronautics through its many exhibitors (books, photos, flight suits, insurance, flying schools, aeronautical federations, units of the French Air Force, Navy and Army, heritage associations, institutions) and other events (concerts, simulators, rides, autograph sessions)…
