B-2A Spirit, desenvolvido secretamente para a
U.S. Air Force pela Northrop Grumman, definiu
para sempre a silhueta dos UCAV furtivos
(stealth), que, de alguma maneira, adotam o
formato peculiar de bumerangue ou de arraia.
The B-2A Spirit intercontinental stealth strate-
gic bomber, developed secretly for the U.S. Air
Force by Northrop Grumman, has coined once
and for all the silhouette of stealth UCAVs which
all, more or less, adopt a natural boomerang or
stingray shape.

Também desenvolvido secretamente, o
Boeing Phantom Ray é o sucessor natural do
X-45. Tendo voado pela primeira vez em 2011,
este UCAV adota um formato em delta mais
pontiagudo para reduzir o seu RCS e promover
maior furtividade. Seu TOW é de aproximada-
mente 16 t e pode ser reabastecido em voo.
Also developed secretly, the Boeing Phan-
tom Ray is the natural successor of the X-45
designed one decade ago. First flown in 2011,
this UCAV adopts a more pointed and delta
shape likely to reduce its RCS and provide extra
stealthiness. Its overall TOW is about 16 tons. It
can be refuelled in flight.
