Akaer, a leading Brazilian innovation company, is one of the confirmed exhibitors at Eurosatory 2024, a global benchmark event for Defense and Security, set to take place in Paris, France, from June 17 to 21.
This trade fair gathers top brands worldwide and this year will feature civil and military delegations from 96 countries, solidifying its status as a premier meeting point for professionals, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders.
At Eurosatory 2024, Akaer will present a diverse range of products and services showcasing its ability to tackle the complex challenges of the 21st century. Highlights include artificial intelligence (AI) systems applied to Defense and the civilian sector, such as autonomous landing technologies for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and aircraft modernization and conversion solutions, which serve as significant catalysts for innovation and security for Armed Forces and governments.
“We are excited to share our expertise and collaborate with global leaders to address the new challenges in Defense and Security,” said Akaer’s CEO, Cesar Silva.
Sovereignty
As the first Brazilian aerospace company qualified as a Tier 1 Global Supplier, Akaer has become a reference for delivering cutting-edge technology to clients with diverse profiles, establishing business in over 20 countries.
The company boasts an impressive 9 million engineering hours dedicated to aircraft systems and structures, actively participating in more than 50 internationally recognized projects, including the KC-390 cargo aircraft in partnership with Embraer, and the Gripen E fighter jet in cooperation with Saab.
More recently, Akaer contributed to the development of the Hürjet supersonic fighter, launched by TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industry) – designed for advanced training and light attack missions for the Turkish Air Force, the aircraft completed its first flight in April 2023.
Akaer’s latest project involvement is with the D328eco, in partnership with Deutsche Aircraft. Compatible with sustainable fuels, this model can be configured for various civilian and military uses, such as commercial aviation, rescue missions, defense operations, wildfire fighting, and aeromedical services. It can access destinations with short, unpaved runways even in adverse weather conditions. Akaer will manufacture the aircraft’s forward fuselage at its factory in São José dos Campos (SP), with the first unit expected to be delivered by the end of 2025.
Currently, Akaer is also engaged in strategic projects for Brazil’s sovereignty, such as the revitalization of the P-3AM Orion patrol aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), the new version of the EE-9 Cascavel armored vehicle, and the OLHAR thermal imaging monocular, which can detect people, animals, and hot objects even in environments with no lighting, smoke, dust, fog, and camouflage elements – the latter two products are for the Brazilian Army.
Late last year, the company was selected to develop the Microsatellite Launch Vehicle (VLM), a milestone for the Brazilian Space Program. Supported by FINEP (a public funding agency of the federal government), this project represents the ‘final frontier’ for Brazil to achieve autonomy in space access, joining the select group of nations that dominate this technology.
