The EADS brand is now gone with 2013\u2026 here comes the Airbus Group demonstrates Tom Enders, the company’s CEO, raising the new banner in Toulouse, France, where the consolidated seat of the group will be located from now on. \u00a9Airbus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To address a global competition now in full swing and getting harder every day, the EADS group has been rebranded the \u201cAirbus Group\u201d as of 1 January 2014. Uniting all its activities under a single and strong brand, the Airbus Group has also renamed two of its present three Divisions. The Group is now home to:<\/p>\n

  • Airbus \u2014 focussing on commercial aircraft activities;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Airbus Defence and Space \u2014 integrating the Group\u2019s defence and space activities from Cassidian, Astrium, and Airbus Military;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Airbus Helicopters \u2014 comprising all commercial and military helicopter activities.
        \n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \u201cFor many years, Airbus has been a globally renowned synonym for technology breakthrough as well as aeronautic passion and pride,\u201d said Airbus Group CEO Tom Enders. \u201cJoining forces under the strong Airbus brand gives all our operations and employees the thrust and lift to capture global markets.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

        Furthermore, the Group is launching procedures to change the legal form of its holding by 2015: Once renamed, Airbus Group N.V. shall turn into a European Company, Airbus Group SE (Societas Europaea) which will continue to be registered in the Netherlands. \u201cWe are a pioneer for European industrial integration. It is a logical step and high time that our multinational culture is also mirrored in our legal structure,\u201d said Enders. This legal conversion has no impact on the organization or operations of the Group.<\/p>\n

        Both the legal name change into Airbus Group N.V. and the conversion of the legal form into SE are subject to approval of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Shareholders: while adoption of the new name is expected at the AGM in May 2014, the legal conversion is targeted for approval
        \nin May 2015.<\/p>\n

        These steps complement the transformation process of the Group. In less than two years, the company has not only modernised its governance, broadened the shareholding structure, and united its HQ but also thoroughly overhauled its company strategy and launched the integration of the defence and space businesses.<\/p>\n

In 2012, the Group \u2013 comprising Airbus, Airbus Defence and Space, and Airbus Helicopters \u2013 generated revenues of \u20ac 56.5 billion and employed a workforce of over 140,000.<\/p>\n
