Com mais de 100 ae-
ronaves em exposição e a
participação da Patrouille de
France e, como a cereja no
bolo, uma passagem impro-
visada em baixo nível execu-
tada por um dos protótipos
do A400M, o La Ferté-Alais
Air Show 2012 certamente
será lembrado como um dos
melhores. Graças à variedade
de warbirds em exposição
e acima de tudo... ao tempo
muito ensolarado.
O evento deste ano foi
também uma agradável lem-
brança do primeiro evento
desse tipo que lá ocorreu em
1972 e reuniu apenas cinco
aeronaves na frente de um
escasso público. Mas a se-
mente foi semeada, levando
menos de uma década, para
Jean Salis e sua equipe de
voluntários, para transformar
diminutivo evento aéreo
regional em um show aéreo
sazonal e logo num encon-
tro internacional.
Um século em voo
Claro, a França pode ser
lembrada como o principal
berço da aviação na Europa.
Notavelmente graças ao
esforço de notáveis pioneiros
como Alberto Santos Du-
mont, Louis Blériot, Raymond
Saulnier, os irmãos Voisin, os
irmãos Farman, os irmãos
Morane e muitos outros.
Quando a “Cidade Luz”, atraiu
o mundo na região de Paris,
esses Trail Blazers, estiveram
em atividade desde a virada
da década de 1900 até a
eclosão da Grande Guerra,
em 1914. Uma década muito
criativa, durante a qual foram
defnidos a forma de todos os
aviões que estariam por vir.
Descansando, pela tradição
atual, sobre os ombros frágeis
mas dispostos de Amicale
drome, is certainly one of the
very few places in Europe
where anyone can come and
admire a large collection of
vintage aeroplanes in fying
condition. Most of them da-
ting back to the early days of
aviation; the very years when
the twentieth century wit-
nessed the birth of aviation
on the Old Continent.
With over 100 aircraft on
show and the participation
of the Patrouille de France
and, as cherry on the cake,
an impromptu low level
fy-past performed by one of
the A400M’s prototypes, La
Ferté-Alais air show 2012 will
certainly be remembered as
one of the best. Thanks to
the variety of warbirds on
show and above all… a very
sunny weather.
This year’s venue was also
a nice reminder that the
very frst event of this kind
took place there in 1972
and brought together just
a mere fve aircraft in front
of a sparse public. But the
seed was sowed and it took
less than a decade, for Jean
Salis and his team of active
volunteers, to transform the
diminutive regional air event
into a seasonal air show and
soon enough into an inter-
national gathering.
One full century in fight
Of course, France can be
remembered as the main
birthplace of aviation in
Europe. Notably under the
endeavouring action of such
noted pioneers as Alberto
Santos Dumont, Louis Blé-
riot, Raymond Saulnier, the
Voisin brothers, the Farman
brothers, the Morane bro-
thers and many more. When
the “City of Lights” attracted
the world in the Paris region,
