primeiras entregas próximas
First three production Airbus Military A400M aircraft take shape
T he initial three production Airbus Military A400M Atlas air-
lifters are seen together for the frst time (below) in this
latest image of the Airbus Military fnal assembly line (FAL) at
Seville-San Pablo, Spain. The picture shows MSN 007 (furthest
from the camera, and frst earmarked to be delivered to a cus-
tomer, in this case: France) awaiting imminent installation of its
four engines, alongside MSN 009 (centre, and the frst aircraft
for Turkey) and MSN 008 (closest, and also for France) under-
going ground system tests (GST). These tests are conducted
once the structural assembly of the aircraft has been comple-
ted. Additionally, fnal assembly of MSN 010, also for France, has
begun in Seville. All four aircraft are due for delivery in 2013.
The series production aircraft are externaly similar to the
prototypes. This is because the initial very advanced 3D design
conception of the A400M precisely “froze” the general lines of
the aircraft at a very early stage. Teething problems with the
TP-400 engines are still being taken care of at industrial level
in order to provide the frst customers, France and Turkey, with
an operational airlifter ready to use. Needless to say that the
French Air Force is very eager to get its frst aircraft in Orléans
next spring to replace its legacy Transall airlifters now gone to
the boneyard. u
A s três aeronaves de produção inicial do A400M Atlas são
vistas juntas pela primeira vez (abaixo) nesta recente
imagem da linha de montagem fnal da Airbus Military (FAL)
em Sevilha-San Pablo, Espanha. A imagem mostra o MSN 007
(mais afastado, e o primeiro avião a ser entregue a um cliente,
a França) aguardando a instalação iminente de seus quatro
motores, ao lado do MSN 009 (ao centro, e o primeiro avião
para a Turquia) e MSN 008 (mais próximo, e também para a
França) em fase de testes de sistemas terrestres (GST). Além
disso, a montagem fnal do MSN 010, também para a França,
já começou em Sevilha. Todas as quatro aeronaves deverão
ser entregues em 2013
As aeronaves de produção em série são externamente se-
melhantes aos protótipos. Isto porque a concepção inicial do
projeto 3D "congelou" precisamente as linhas gerais da ae-
ronave em uma fase muito precoce. Problemas iniciais com
os motores TP-400 ainda estão sendo resolvidos em nível
industrial, a fm de se entregar aos primeiros clientes, França
e Turquia, um avião operacional e pronta para o uso. Não é
necessário dizer que a Força Aérea Francesa está muito an-
siosa para receber o primeiro avião na próxima primavera para
substituir suas velhas aeronaves de transporte Transall. u
