 A AvEx possui duas variantes do Esquilo, a HB 350 L1 e a AS 550 A2 (ou Fennec), ambas
monoturbinas, impulsionadas por um motor Turbomeca Arriel 1D1 de 546 kW/732 shp de pôtencia
na decolagem e de 466 kW/624.44 shp em voo de cruzeiro. Em 25 anos de existência, a Aviação do
Exército registrou um total de 100,000 horas de vôo, principalmente voando o Esquilo/Fennec. Esta
marcação comemorativa foi pintada no Fennec EB-1025. Com mais de 6000 unidades construídas,
a turbina Arriel 1 apresenta um design muito simples, com reduzido número de componentes e
apenas cinco módulos de manutenção fácil. A Arriel 1 ganhou uma sólida reputação no mercado de
helicópteros graças a suas excelentes características de operação e alto nível de confiabilidade.
The AvEx has two variants of the “Squirel”, the HB 350 L1 Esquilo and the 550 A2 Fennec, both
single engine driven by a Turbomeca Arriel 1D1 turbine of 546 kW / 732 shp take-off power and of
466 kW / 624.44 shp in cruise flight. In 25 years of existence, the Aviação do Exército logged a total
of 100.000 flight hours, mainly flying the tandem Esquilo/Fennec. This reminder was painted on
Fennec EB-1025. The Arriel 1 turboshaft engine features a very simple design, with a reduced num-
ber of parts and only five modules for easy maintenance. The Arriel 1 has gained a solid reputation
in the helicopter market, based on its excellent handling characteristics and high level of reliabi-
