“Bold Alligator 2012”
US frst large amphibious operation in
twenty years demonstrate pertinence
 Uma linha de aeronaves tilt-rotor Bell-Boeing MV-22B Osprey do US Marine Corps no MCAS New River,
Carolina do Norte, durante o "Bold Alligator 12". Através do uso de rotores inclináveis, o Osprey pode
decolar e aterrissar como um helicóptero, mas converte-se em um turbopropulsor durante o voo. Desde
2006, estes máquinas de transporte rápido fornecem aos fuzileiros navais norte-americanos grande
mobilidade e flexibilidade durante operações de desembarque. Os Ospreys viram ação em combate no
Iraque, Afeganistão e Líbia. O USMC já recebeu cerca de 100 MV-22B, e até o final desta década um total
de 350 estarão em serviço, em quatro “wings” do USMC, e em cerca de duas dezenas dos esquadrões.

great all-weather mobility and extreme fexibility during landing operations. The USMC Ospreys have
seen combat action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. If the USMC already received about 100 MV-22Bs, by
the end of this decade a total of 350 will be deployed, within four Marine Aircraft Wings, by about two
