Airbus supera a marca de 12.000 pedidos
Airbus passes the 12,000 orders mark by the end of 2012

Quando o número de empresas que regem um mercado
está reduzido a dois fornecedores, em termos econômi­
cos, é comum se referir a isto como um “duopólio”. E não há
nenhum outro segmento em que tal menção é tão verdadeira
quanto no mundo da aviação, onde os players A e B são nada
menos que a Airbus e Boeing, as duas grandes!
Quarenta e um anos após a primeira venda de sua história
– um A300B2-1C para a Air France (MSN 5 - F-WUAA) em no­
vembro de 1971, como parte de um contrato inicial de seis
aeronaves para a (então) companhia aérea estatal francesa –
a carteira de pedidos da Airbus passou a incrível marca de
12 mil encomendas em novembro de 2012, com 182 novas
encomendas registradas e um total de 12.064 encomendas.
É o melhor desempenho comercial registrado no segmento
aeroespacial em 2012. Não é preciso dizer que, há quatro dé­
cadas, ninguém poderia prever o sucesso de tal empreendi­
mento aeroindustrial europeu criado pela França, Alemanha
e Grã-Bretanha…
W hen the number of companies ruling a market is re­
duced to two suppliers, in economic terms, it is com­
mon to speak about a “duopoly”. And there is no other place
were such a mention is so real than in the aviation feld where
the A- and B-players are no other than Airbus and Boeing, the
big twos!
Forty-one years after recording its frst ever sale – an
A300B2-1C to Air France (MSN 5 – F-WUAA) in November 1971,
part of an initial six aircraft contract for the French (then)
state-owned airline – the Airbus order book passed the ama­
zing 12,000 orders line last November with 182 new bookings
registered bringing the present fgure to 12,064. It is the best
commercial performance recorded in the aerospace world in
2012. No need to say that four decades ago, no one would
have bode well for such an aeroindustrial European venture
brought about by France, Germany and Great-Britain…
Let's remind here that Airbus crossed the epoch-making
threshold of 10,000 orders about two years ago only – on 17
