Embraer signed a contract for the supply of four A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to Panama’s National Air and Naval Service (SENAN), expanding the Brazilian light attack aircraft’s footprint into Central America. The contract includes logistics support and pilot and maintenance crew training.
The Super Tucano will be employed by Panama in maritime and land patrol, border surveillance and anti-narcotics support missions — a role similar to that filled by the aircraft in other Latin American operators, including Colombia (A-29B), Ecuador and the Brazilian Air Force itself.
In parallel, Uruguay received two of the five A-29 Super Tucanos ordered for the Uruguayan Air Force (FAU) in early 2026, as part of a contract that includes a flight simulator and logistics package. The Super Tucano replaces the IA-58 Pucará in the FAU inventory.
With these new sales, the A-29 Super Tucano fleet has surpassed 250 units produced and now operates in more than 15 countries, cementing its position as the world’s leading light attack and advanced trainer platform in its category.
