A
s recentes operações aéreas sobre
o Afeganistão e a Líbia tem sido
um bom testemunho da excelência do
projeto do Rafale. Na verdade, todas as
tripulações francesas do Rafale indaga-
das – desde que o padrão F3 foi imple-
mentado – estão claramente satisfeitas
com a aeronave e seu sistema de armas.
As críticas são inexistentes, tanto em
voo quanto a nível de manutenção,
com o Rafale atendendo muito bem os
atuais requisitos operacionais militares
franceses. Acostumada, há décadas,
a operacionalizar aviões de combate
impostos pela indústria nacional e pelas
restrições orçamentárias, a Armée de l’Air
fala muito bem sobre o Rafale. Não há
elogio melhor e mais digno de atenção
do que as palavras pronunciadas em
junho passado, em Mont-de-Marsan,
pelo General Jean-Paul Paloméros, o
chefe do Estado Maior da Força Aérea:
“Com o projeto Rafale, o nosso país logrou
fazer algo impossível…possível! [...] Nunca
antes a Armée de l’Air teve um avião que

Criticisms are non existent, both at fying

constraints, the Armée de l’Air, on the
contrary, talks big about the Rafale. No
better praise can be more worthy of
attention than the words pronounced
last June at Mont-de-Marsan by General
Jean-Paul Paloméros, the chief of staf
of the Air Force:
“With the Rafale project,
our country aimed at making something
impossible…possible! […] Never before
has the Armée de l’Air had an aircraft that
so fully meets its needs and the defence
mission bestowed onto us by our nation”.
