proporcionou à imprensa (aerospacial) mundial a opor-
tunidade de testemunhar o importante esforço realizado pela
Forces Royales Air, FRA, no campo da modernização.
Estrelas do show em 2012, com camufagem de deserto e
ostentando o roundel vermelho (com a coroa) do país, foram
dois dos novíssimos F-16 Fighting Falcon, que tiveram o pri-
meiro lote entregue em agosto do ano passado. No fnal de
2007, o governo marroquino encomendou, através de um
contrato (Foreign Military Sale) com a Força Aérea dos EUA,
um lote de 24 aeronaves F-16C/D Block 52 (com o motor P&W
F100-PW-229), bem como equipamentos e serviços associa-
dos. Acredita-se que o valor total do contrato, com todas as
opções, chegue a US$2.4 bilhões. Ele inclui também 24 pares
de tanques conformais (CFT) e 12 pods de designação de alvo
AN/AAQ-33 Sniper. Curiosamente, o 4.500º F-16 produzido é
uma avançada aeronave Block 52 destinada ao Marrocos.
A FRA é o 22º cliente internacional a selecionar a família
de motores F100. Os motores F100 equipam aeronaves F-16
utilizadas por toda a região na Bélgica, Dinamarca, Egito,
Grécia, Israel, Itália, Holanda, Noruega, Polônia e Portugal. O
motor F100-PW-229 é o único motor de caça desenvolvido e
qualifcado pela USAF com capacidade de 6.000 ciclos. Incor-
porando tecnologias mais recentes, este sistema de propul-
são fornece energia confável a caças F-16 mundo afora. Até

the important efort made by the Forces Royales Air, FRA or
Royal Moroccan Air Force, in the feld of modernisation.
Star of the show in 2012, in desert camoufage and spor-
ting the red crowned roundel of the kingdom, were two of
the brand-new F-16 Fighting Falcons, the frst batch of which
was delivered in August last year. In late 2007, the Moroccan
government ordered, through a Foreign Military Sale made
with the U.S. Air Force, a batch of 24 Lockheed Martin F-16C/D
Block 52 aircraft (powered by Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229
engine) as well as associated equipment and services. The to-
tal value of the contract, with all options, is said to be as high
as $2.4 billion. It includes as well 24 pairs of Conformal Fuel
Tanks (CFT) and 12 AN/AAQ-33 Sniper targeting pods. For the
small story, the 4,500th F-16 produced is an advanced Block
52 aircraft earmarked for Morocco.
The Royal Moroccan Air Force is the 22nd international
customer to select the F100 engine family. F100 engines
power F-16 aircraft utilised throughout the region in Bel-
gium, Denmark, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands,
Norway, Poland and Portugal. The F100-PW-229 engine is the
only fghter engine funded and qualifed by the USAF to the
6,000 cycle capability. Incorporating the latest technologies,
this propulsion system provides dependable power for F-16
