Um“narrow body” comercial do tamanho ideal
A família E-Jet é uma linha de jatos “nar-
row-body” bimotores de médio alcance,
produzidos em São José dos Campos,
no Estado de São Paulo. Anunciado no
Paris Air Show em 1999, a aeronave en-
trou em produção há dez anos, em 2002,
e logo se tornou um sucesso comercial
global, quando o 500º E-Jet, um ERJ-
170-100, prefxo F-HBXH, foi entregue
à Air France Régional em 16 de abril de
2010; época em que a designação “ERJ”
(Embraer Regional Jet) foi abandonada e
substituída simplesmente por “E”.
Como destacado por Paulo Cé-
sar Silva, Chefe da Divisão de Aviões
Comerciais da Embraer, durante uma
conferência de imprensa em Paris, em
5 de maio de 2012: em 31 de março de
2012 a Embraer já havia vendido 1.063
E-Jets, além de 689 opções de venda.
A carteira de encomendas atual possui
240 pedidos frmes, com 823 unidades já
entregues.

An ideally-sized “narrow body” airliner
The E-Jet family is a ftting line of
narrow-body, twin-engine, medium-
range, jet airliners produced in São José
dos Campos in the state of São Paulo.
Announced at the Paris Air Show in
1999, the aircraft entered production ten
years ago, in 2002, soon to become a
global commercial hit as the 500th E-Jet,
an ERJ-170-100, registered F-HBXH, was
handed over to Air France Régional on
16 April 2010; by which time the “ERJ”
(Embraer Regional Jet) designation was
dropped and simply replaced by “E”.
As indicated by Paulo César Silva,
Head of the Commercial Aircraft Division
of Embraer during a press conference
in Paris, on 5 May 2012: as of 31 March
2012, Embraer has sold 1,063 E-Jets, plus
689 sales option. The current backlog
lists 240 frm orders and 823 units have
so far been delivered.
A two-pronged family
The Embraer E-Jets line is composed
of two main commercial families (plus
a business jet variant named Legacy).
