Um Rafale ainda muito melhor
Dassault and Thales deliver Rafale C-137
with standard production AESA radar

A té agora, apenas caças norte-ame-
ricanos, como o Lockheed Mar-
tin F­‑16E/F Block 60 Fighting Falcon
(usando o radar AESA Northrop Grum-
man AN/APG-80), ou a última versão
do Boeing F-15C da USAF e F-15SG
da Força Aérea da República de Cin-
gapura (respectivamente equipados
com o radar Raytheon AN/APG-63(V)2
e AN/APG-63(V)3), ou ainda mais o
Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet e EA-
18G Growler (com o Raytheon APG-79
ou APG-82(V)1) poderiam ostentar um
verdadeiro radar de nova geração sem
qualquer outro equivalente no mundo.
Porém, este já não é mais o caso desde
que a Força Aérea Francesa recebeu seu
primeiro caça Rafale F3 equipado com
o radar AESA Thales RBE2/AA (Antenne
Active) em outubro de 2012. O primeiro
avião de caça europeu assim equipado.
Quase dentro do programado, a Agê-
ncia de Aquisições de Defesa francesa

ted USAF late model Boeing F‑15C and

more the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet
and EA-18G Growler (with their Raytheon
APG-79 or APG-82(V)1) could boast a real
new generation nose radar without any
world equivalent. This is not the case any
more since the French Air Force received
its frst Rafale F3 fghter graced with the
Thales RBE2/AA (Antenne Active) AESA
lightweight radar last October. The frst
European fghter plane so equipped.
Almost on schedule, the French de-
fence procurement agency (DGA) took
delivery of the Dassault Rafale C single-
seater number 137, the initial production

Uma vez totalmente operacional com o Meteor
BVRAAM da MBDA, o Rafale será um intercep-
tador imbatível, com este míssil possuindo a
maior “No-Escape Zone” (NEZ) de qualquer
arma ar-ar atualmente existente.

the first Rafale fitted with a production AESA
radar: the Thales RBE2/AA. Once fully opera-
tional with the new MBDA Meteor BVRAAM,
the Rafale will be an unbeatable interceptor,
as this missile has the largest No-Escape Zone
(NEZ) of any existing air-to-air weapon. Thus
resulting in a long stand-off range and high kill
probability to ensure air superiority and crew
survivability against any powerful opponent.
